For this week, I decided to work on the materials for the dead version of each character and the cards for each side, as well as the general base.
Finally, after a lot of work, I managed to get my duck to start moving!
Also, now after a few unity integrations, one can navigate the space.
Another visual update, is the fact that now i have grass that moves with the wind! Which adds a more peaceful look to contrast with the tension once the duck starts coming.
After doing some reading I decided on the topics I want to cover in my ethics essay.
Some of them are:
I started designing the characters and their outfits.
I wanted them to have a rap/cool style.
Each character will represent one color.
I’m starting to focus on the main interactions and functionalities of Unity.
I still have a hard time grasping the code and the software so it’s taking a lot of research and a lot of time.
However, after a lot of effort, I made the buttons work!
Now, when the buttons are pressed, they push in and the switches turn into a different angle.
Also, I managed to make the light turn on when the puzzle is correct.
I made the second and final draft of my script. I changed some things in the story for it to make more sense.
These changes were:
It helped my fill a few plotholes that Ana pointed out in the mid crit.
Now I can move one to the critical report!
First of all, to start with this project, I needed to find a sound to use.
This was going to determine the whole aesthetic of my project.
One thing I knew for sure was that I had to found sounds royalty free and with no copyright.
I tried looking in youtube but I couldn’t find tracks that were split in different instruments.
I tried looking in music pages but the same thing happened.
I decided I had to do it myself, which is why I ended up using Garage Band, to create my own beats.
I managed to start a unity project. First, I laid out all of the scene with the assets that I had, in order to test the sizes of things.
For now, everything looks good. I haven’t added any interaction yet.
Additionally, I designed how the puzzle is going to work: It’s going to be all switches and buttons, with clues in the same machines.
Also, we had the mid crit for this project!
I shared all of my progress, my worries, my ideas and my future challenges.
Thankfully, I had very good feedback
Today we had the midcrit. I recieved some very positive feedback!
Some of the things I have to change are:
I also made the florplan. This will make the process of making the storyboard a lot easier:
After a working for a long time on the rest of the projects, I finally had time to start working on the AR.
This week we had the mid crit, and even thought I didn’t have anything physical prepared to show, I presented all of my options to the tutor and the class. These ideas were a lot different that the ones I had after the first week of classes.
These are were my options:
After discussing it with two of my tutors, I decided to go with the first one (the music experience). I liked the idea of using AR and sounds, even though it could get complex.
